摘要

The Bulletin Board System(BBS) is like a virtual community. Spending long hours to use this technology is detrimental to the health,especially visual functioning. This study aims at understanding the relationship between spending hours at a workstation and visual fatigue; sampled randomly using the BBS users' numbers, sent messages to them one by one, and asked them to provide the information we required that had bearing on our research. If problems are related to the questionnaire,subjects can send massages to study groups. Most users are university students. Males are more addicted to BBS than females, while females get visual fatigue more easily. Thus the worse workstation surroundings are, the higher the degree of visual fatigue will be after getting on BBS. With the development of network,more and more people will go on line. As a result,it is necessary that we conduct further research on physical and psychological problems that could possible manifest in BBS populations. Particularly,we should pay attention to a problem related to people abusing BBS and the influence of BBS in term of psychological addiction.
