Half of the recommended rate of dicamba (108 g a.i./ha) or MCPA(600 g a.i./ha) were applied at anthesis (AA) or 2 days after anthesis (DAA) on the spikelets of wild oat, with no significant effects on seed development and seed germination. Difenzoquat were treated at the recommended dose (975 g a.i./ha) at AA or 2 DAA, with no obvious effects on embryo and endosperm development, but the weight of caryopsis was lower than that of the untreated controls, and some of the seedlings were abnormal and about 24 to 36 per cent of the seedlings were unable to survive. The fenoxaprop-ethyl was applied at the recommended rate (67.5 g a.i./ha) at 2 days before anthesis (DBA), AA, or 2 DAA, the seed development was inhibited evidently.
