Molecular recognition in biochemistry is well known, but application of this concept to the polymer processing field is new. Utilizing molecular recognition concepts, the processing and coloration of polyamide and polyester fibers can be significantly impacted in a variety of positive ways. Examples of inorganic and organic pigments in polyamide and polyester fibers will be presented.
