摘要

This paper described a novel approach to construct a space-variant cell distribution according to biological retina. The model designed in this paper samples pictures with pseudo-random "photoreceptor cells" rather than with pixels. And such a sub-pixel sampling method radically differs from uniform pixel array version used in conventional computational vision. Moreover, a simple type of ganglion cells was also modeled to represent orientational stimulus in the visual field.
