This paper presents the results of an experimentalrninvestigation of two rotary-wing UAV designs. Thernprimary goal of the investigation was to provide a setrnof interactional aerodynamic data for an emergingrnclass of rotorcraft. The present paper provides anrnoverview of the test and an introduction to the testrnarticles, and instrumentation. Sample data in thernform of a parametric study of fixed system lift andrndrag coefficient response to changes in configurationrnand flight condition for both rotor off and onrnconditions are presented. The presence of the rotor isrnseen to greatly affect both the character andrnmagnitude of the response. The affect of scaled storesrnon body drag is observed to be dependent on bodyrnshape.
