Due to the pervasive nature of nano, GE is pursuing nanotechology for product enhancements and the creation of entirely new product lines. The GE Global Research Center is leading these efforts for a wide range of business applications including aircraft engines, plastics, power systems, medical imaging equipment and lighting. This paper focuses on the research being conducted by the nanostructured metals platform.
