The purpose of this study was to investigate naproxen loaded microemulsion formulations for topical application and to compare commercial formulation (C) about skin irritancy. The skin irritation potential of the naproxen microemulsions was evaluated in rats. The microemulsions (F1-F2) did not show any signs of skin irritation in the rats. It can be concluded that the microemulsions could be a promising vehicle for topical delivery of naproxen.
