Fat is one of three basic energy sources and a major player in energy storage. Fat regulation provides important balance in nutrition metabolism. In evolution, energy metabolism has been asymmetric with energy accumulation in the form of fat to prevent starvation but possibly causing obesity. Many proteins have derived from this procedure. Thus, it's possible to analyze the proteins involved in fat regulation to provide a view of evolution. In this paper, we have tested this hypothesis by applying CLUSTALW to yield a phylogenetic tree from 187 proteins related to fat regulation selected from the literature.
