To study the train-induced cyclic loads in the elastic half-space, the train-track system-ground interaction problem is simplified as Timoshenko beam on elastic foundation under a series of moving concentrating loads. The dynamic loads on the foundation surface are calculated with the corresponding pseudo-static solution. Ground response is obtained by integrating the basic solution of stresses in elastic half-space under moving point force. Variation of dynamic stresses with space and time coordinate is studied. It is shown that the dynamic stresses in the ground are harmonic-like cyclic loads. They attenuate rapidly with depth but decrease more slowly in the y direction at a deeper depth. Speed has a significant influence on stresses, which differs for different stress components and depends on the speed ratio. Of all the normal stress σ zd is the dominant one, whose influencing range and magnitude are much larger than those of the other two.
