Model identification of geotechnical engineering based on genetic programming

The selection of appropriate presentation model based on the field monitoring data is an important task for studying of the law of rock-soil movement. The genetic programming that simulates the evolution of organisms is studied to develop the model identification and apply the prediction system in geotechnical engineering. First, the layered dendriform structure is used to express the individuals of genetic programming, then based on the design of copy, interchange, mutation and program flow in the evolution process, the object-oriented and message-driven model identification software of geotechnical engineering GP1.0 is developed on the basis of Visual C++ 6.0. The case study illustrates that the model can predict nicely the settlement of building and the result is similar with the actual value. The optimal model and parameters can be found by genetic programming for the unknown function expression. This method is particularlly adaptable for the complex model identification of geotechnical engineering.
