The Ability to Control A Brain-Computer Interactive Game by Concentration

The main objective of BCI research and development is to help people who have stroke, neural and musculoskeletal disorders, spinal cord injuries, who cannot communicate with the surrounding environment. A Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) is a hardware and software system by which mental activities can control computers. This system is capable of receiving signals from the brain and converting them into controlling commands. Brain-computer systems are developing day by day and there are different methods for controlling external objects such as SSVEP, P300, and so on. In this study a new pattern is addressed for people's concentration by using brain signals and brain computer interface (OpenBCI) as well as a brain computer game is designed and implemented that is called Cog-Maze. This game works as real-time based on presented concentration pattern using brain signals. It is tested on 10 people (men and women aged 20–35 years old) during a week. It is observed that people's concentration time had a relative growth of 32.85%.
