Abstract: This paper presents comparisons between LOWTRAN 7 and field measurements taken during a number of field tests conducted by the US ARMY Center for Night Vision and Electro-Optics at several different locations. The data was collected by the TECOM Ft Belvoir Meteorological Team. Data includes transmission at 0.4 - 0.7 microns, 1.54 microns, 3 - 5 microns, and 8 - 12 microns. A brief description of the equipment and meteorological parameters are presented along with the measured transmission and calculations using LOWTRAN 7 and in one example, MODTRAN.!2
