Current Situation and Trend of Comprehensive Utilization of Solid Wastes of Iron and Steel Industry in PRC

摘要

Annual output of solid wastes of iron and steel industry in PRC is 170 million tons with comprehensive utilization rate 44.7%. The paper conducts statistical analysis of annual output, utilization rate as well as chemical and mineralogical compositions of iron and steel industry's solid wastes and summarizes their main ways for utilization. It describes a member of techniques and products with advanced work level and independent intellectual and property rights, studied and developed in terms of China's national conditions. It suggests major efforts should be henceforth devoted to spread and apply the following comprehensive utilization techniques: redressing tailings to recover iron concentrate and intermediate product, replacing iron powder and clay with tailings to make cement clinker, using tailings as building construction material; using granulated blast furnace slag powder as cement and concrete additives; using steel slag to make sintering material for iron smelting and steel slag cement, using steel slag powder as cement and concrete additives; using iron containing dust mud as sintering mix for iron smelting; using fly ash as cement mix and concrete additives as well as new type building materials and products. Main tasks ahead for comprehensive utilization of solid wastes in iron and steel industry are as follows; gradually expanding industrialization scale as well as improving technical level of high-valued comprehensive utilization and comprehensive utilization rate.
