STEM is at a crossroads and nuclear partners must play a role in its direction. It is more than providing information but programming that involves education influencers in the planning and delivery. We've highlighted two programs - the science teachers' workshop and the NCSTA PDI - as anchors that establish entry points year round for educators, advisers and administrators (e.g. science subject chairs). Then we have resources - in way of human and material - that "fill in" the period in-between. The next step for us is a nuclear engineering education lab where new techniques for engagement can be explored.
