摘要

This paper describes methods of imaging objects using a low energy γ-tomograph and a newly acquired X-ray system.. The original objective in this work was to develop the system to diagnose faults in dense flow regimes within pneumatic conveying lines. The methodology requires the system to be initially optimised using phantoms rather than moving objects. However, in the case of the γ-tomograph, a technical fault in one of the thirty detectors produced some interesting data and corresponding images. The X-ray system has been used to generate images within wooden slices, although the time required to accumulate the data for these images is exceedingly long compared with the tomograph.
