A Safety Protection Technology System on Highway Roadside in China

摘要

In order to reduce the rate of roadside accident and help engineers make anrninformed decision or take the most effective measures in highway roadside safetyrnimprovement program, the authors put forward the roadside safety protectionrntechnology system (RSPTS) that suited to the actual situation to deal with the typicalrnroadside safety problems appearing in China. RSPTS is built in accordance with arnpriority of active guidance, appropriate protection and timely security, including therntechnologies to prevent vehicles from leaving the road out of the lane (activernguidance technology), to reduce the collision and rollover accident rate, and tornalleviate the severity of roadside accidents. The potential benefit of this study is tornreduce the roadside accident rate, in particular to alleviate the severity of the seriousrntraffic accidents which can result in many injuries and deaths.
