The SpaceWire Remote Terminal Controller (SpWRTC)rnASIC is a single chip embedded system thatrnincludes a general purpose LEON2-FT SPARC V8 corernwith a MEIKO FP unit (IEEE-754). This architecturernprovides the mixed capability to effectively performrndata handling at platform level and powerful datarnprocessing at payload level. The design of the SpWRTCrnASIC is based on the IP-cores under ESA license,rnsuch as the LEON2-FT, HurriCANe and SpW Codec.rnThe paper will focus, as a first step, on the architecturalrnconfiguration of the ASIC. A closer look at thernfunctionality of the SpW interfaces will also be given.rnLastly, performance figures derived from ASICrnvalidation tests will be highlighted before concluding.
