摘要

Naturally occurring monomeric phenols are ubiquitous in soil and considered to be precursors of humic substances. Though the concentration of these phenols in soil solution is very low, due to their continuous input, they may play an important role in the stabilization of carbon in soil. However, the mechanisms for their stabilization, in which both abiotic and biotic processes could be involved, are still unclear. In order to understand the role of soil abiotic parameters in the stabilization process of phenols, we investigated the sorption of natural monomeric phenols on autoclaved or calcined soil and on a soil humic acid fraction. The phenols studied were ring-labelled with ~(13)C-and ~(14)C-isotopes, and listed in Fig. 1. All labelled phenols were chemically synthesized in our laboratory.
