The rail industry is experiencing a revolution with respect to new and existing rolling stock. As each of the train operating companies has entered the private sector, the new owners have stamped their mark on the rolling stock to announce their arrival.rnThe process used to enhance and specify the requirements for the vehicles is key and this paper outlines how this has been achieved for both the MML HST fleet recently refurbished and the new build class 170 DMU which will come into full operation in May '99.
