In this paper, it is analyzed the dynamic behavior of the slider as a function of both the coefficient of friction and the coefficient of restitution. It is also studied the time sequence of slider contacts for a typical "mini-Winchester" recording slider, and it is possible to determine the region of stable and unstable flying behavior for various value of the coefficient of friction and the coefficient of restitution. In addition, it is investigated the dependence of slider dynamics on the initial conditions and identified contact situations which reduces the possibility of a head crash,
