To be maintenance engineers is very important carrer for university students major in mechanical engineering. The training program for qualified maintenance engineer must be begined from undergraduate courses which contents and teaching methods should be managed systemly. For students at mechanical engineering faculty, how to set up the training program is discussed, the present status of undergraduate courses correlated to maintenance education in chinese universities is analysised so that the main problems are pointed out, then,some proposals to improvement of maintanance education in undergraduate courses are provided, including the recension to course contents and promoting teaching. As an example, tribology course and its teaching is discussed deeply.
