摘要

Flame retardant materials are designed to meet specific and demanding end user criteria in such areas as: 1. wire & cable industry 2. electronics industry 3. construction industry 4. transportation industry 5. office / information technology Raw materials are selected and compounds are formulated in order to achieve the required balance of properties. This paper will describe the need and importance of a versatile continuous compounding process. Also compounding machinery options in the form of a co-rotating twin screw extruder and a reciprocating single screw kneader will be discussed. Either system can meet stringent quality requirements, provide product consistency and cost effective compounding solutions.
