Chongqing monorail is the first one in china. Concerning the PC beams facing the crashing, scraping and terrorism, we should prepare a few of emergency (EM) beams for the emergency situation, in order to replace the every broken beam quickly. Firstly, through comparing the dimensions of PC beams and steel beams, the Precast-Steel-Segment-Program was evaluated, and the standard segment was defined. Then, using the Finite element program ANSYS, the performance when steel track beams suffer loads is discussed. The results indicate that the designed EM beams satisfied the strength and stiffness.
