摘要

Our significant experience suggests that a committed combination of scientists and clinicians is the fundamental key to promoting the development of HIFU technology. The invention of an FUS therapeutic system, establishing an FUS therapeutic program individually, the performance of FUS conformal ablation by doctors specializing in FUS, and the ability to judge the short-term efficacy of FUS in causing complete ablation are all important factors in the successful clinical application of FUS treatment. Although more than 700 patients have undergone FUS treatment in China since 1997, FUS technology is still in its developmental stages and the clinical application to the extracorporeal ablation of solid malignancies is currently in its infancy. Our own 3-year preliminary clinical study indicates that FUS treatment is a safe, effective, and feasible modality for the destruction of malignant solid tumors. These results are exciting and encouraging, but longer follow -up is necessary to fully determine the true efficacy of this noninvasive therapeutic modality.
