Fast Circulating Fluidized Bed reactors are used for many applications, whether in riser or downer mode, with residence times of a few hundreds of milliseconds. A good understanding of initial gas-solids contacting was obtained through two methods: analysis of signals from simplified momentum probes ad adsorption of ammonia on FCC catalyst.
