A highly sensitive and specific noncompetitive enzymelinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for gras scarp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus) growth ormone (gcCH) was developed using monclonal antibodies (MCAs) against gcCH as coating antibody and gcGH rabbit antiserum as linking antibody. The ELISA reconginzed gcGH and recombinatn common carp (Cyprinus carpio) GH (rcGH), but did not recognie salmon (On-corhynchus tshawytscha) GH, bovine GH, salmon gonadotropin (GtH) and bighead carp (Aristichythys nobolis) GtH. The ELISA recognized GH in common carp and blumtnose black bream (Megalobrama ambly-cephala), pituitary extracts, but not in northern sheat-fish (Silurus soldatovi), yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidaco), chinese sturgeon (Acipenser sinensis) and recognized GH in common carp, grass carp and crucian crap (Carassius carassius) plasa, but not in northern sheatfish, walking catfish (Clarias batachus) and tilapis (Tilapia molotica) plasma. The sensitivity of the ELISA was about 0.89ng/mL. Inter-and intraassay coefficients of variance of the ELISA were about 7.6
