The authors suggest a new type of integration of suspension preheaters to assure high solid to gas ratio. Theoretical aspects of the suggested system is treated. Simulating experiments were conducted at normal temperature conditions, with aid of pitot probe, mass balance, and manometer. the separation efficiency of the suspending particle,s systein heat efficiency, and pressure drop were determined to define the effect of high ratio of solid to gas. The measurements indicate that shaft suspension preheater of high ratio of solid to gas is a promising approach for retrofitting existing rotary kilns of intermediate or small scale suffering from low production capacity and excessive energy consumption.
