Formation of {111} Recrystallized Grains at Grain Boundaries in Bicrystals of an Fe-19 Cr Ferritic Alloy

Cold rolling and recrystallization structures were examined in two kinds of bicrystals of (111)[-110]:(111)[-211] as a γ-fiber sample and (111)[-110]:(001)[-110] as an α-fiber sample, where the boundaries were perpendicular to the rolling plane. Lattice rotation was recognized in the boundary regions with about 300μm or wider in both samples. The (001)[-110] crystal was hard to recrystallize even in the boundary region where continuous lattice rotation toward the boundary was detected. A number of {111} recrystallized grains formed in the boundary regions of the (111)[-110] and (111)[-211] crystals, although {011} recrystallized grains were dominant in the regions apart from the boundaries. The results emphasized the importance of grain boundaries perpendicular to the rolling plane for the formation of {111} grains in recrystallization of cold rolled steel sheet.
