摘要

The deep mixing method is widely applied in highway engineering for soft ground improvement. Deep mixed columns(DMCs) and surrounding clays consist of a composite foundation, but the change in strength behavior of surrounding clays due to the installation of DMCs is still not well understood. In this study, the cone penetration tests were performed to investigate the change in soil strength of surrounding clays after the DMC installation at different distance from the column border and time after the installation. Based on the tested data, the strength of surrounding soils is discussed.
