Laboratory studies were carried out to examine the phenomena of adsorption/desorption of chromium, copper, and lead onto four sorbents. The sorbents used in the sudy were SiO_2, Al_2O_3, kaolin, and red soil. SiO_2 and Al_2O_3 are high in purity except that the loss on ignition of SiO_2 is approx. 15
