The design idea that the general design emphasized is "from general to special", which served the elder citizen, the children, the disabled person, it spreads the non-barrier design to all people, and allows many people to use the facilities. After the discussion of general design and non-barrier design relationship and research in the habitability and the accessibility of general housing, the necessity and the specific demands of general design were being pointed out. The necessity to develop the general housing in our country was also being discussed. Moreover, the prospects for development had been forecast.
