This paper focuses on the synthesis of mesoporous silica based and zirconia based materials with ordered nano-structured pores. Various techniques have been developed to modify these materials as to explore their chemical and physical properties that may have various potential applications in catalysis, separation, as chemical and biosensors, photoelectric materials, and to study their host-guest chemistry.
