摘要

Underground structure behaviour and its support system are in relevance with rock load (overburden) and support system characteristic and also the manner and time of support installation. The convergence-confinement method is included in observational methods, under experimental methods classifications for underground structure stability analysis. During the recent years, observational methods have been quite significant in design and excavation of underground structures. In this research, besides introduction of the method for drawing the ground response curve for non-circular opening in non-hydrostatic field stresses using numerical methods, the results are reviewed and compared with FEST03 software stability analyses. The outcome clearly indicated the desired correspondence.
