摘要

The main aim of this paper is to propose a novel flower shaped top loaded cylindrical transparent Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) to improve the isolation. The proposed DRA made use of K-9 glass with C=r=7 as an antenna as well as a decorative piece. Its dual function made it a most attractive aerial. The top loading is more significant in the design because it not only enhances the bandwidth but also improves the isolation. It is observed that, the DRA with the top loading of 8 petals resonates at 11.8GHz frequency in the range 7.55-13.73GHz with the return loss of -50.6dB achieved a wide impedance bandwidth of 52.6% and high isolation of 36.3dB. The mutual coupling is also obtained less than -25dB in the entire operating frequency band. The proposed antenna can be used for Satellite and Radars in C, X and Ku frequency bands.
