As we face the turn of the century advances in technology, new management perspectives, and the continuing demand for higher levels of quality will all bring about drastic changes in the way we do business. In this complex environment seemingly innocuous weaknesses in the quality system could become a serious threat to company survival.rnThe street wise organization will be the one which can; 1) build its quality system based on a recognized standard,rn2) make its quality information system a strategic part of the management process, and 3) transform its traditional quality staff into a more flexible unit emphasizing external (vendor) issues versus internal issues.
