摘要

Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) provides a universal open standard for bringing internet and Intranet content and advanced Value Added Services to mobile phones, PDAs and other wireless devices. From the tele-operator's and content provider's point of view, this provides a huge number of new business opportunities, demanding new skills and new approaches to the business itself. The product is no longer a communication line but a whole communication solution concept, derived from user's needs and specific applications. The production of WAP applications and content requires new software professionals in the area. In this paper we describe our experiences from the multimedia course where students developed WAP applications as their project work. Examples of these applications will be presented.
