This paper describes the effects of moisture content change and edge sealing on formaldehyde emission from wood composites using desiccator test of wood composites. There are two specific types of composites: particleboard (PB), medium density fiberboard (MDF). The formaldehyde emissions as a function of moisture content change increased at composites, were then nearly stable with moisture content from 1 to 2.5 %, but increased with moisture content above 2.5 %. The available data on moisture content change were fit with a linear expression for temperature of 20, 35, and 50℃ dependence. The edge sealing had effect on formaldehyde emission reduced composites. Particularly, the formaldehyde reduction effect is higher for PB. The control emission was about two times higher than the edge sealing in formaldehyde emission range at 20℃.
