摘要

Based on the concept "specific-compatibility", Indica-compatible Japonica Line, a kind of new rice germplasm was suggested and developed. The Indica-compatible Japonica Line was characterized by Japonica genome and high indica-compatibility, and could be used to effectively overcome sterility in inter-subspecific hybrid rice and facilitate the utilization of heterosis between indica and Japonica rice. This paper reviewed the progresses in the related researches conducted by us in past 10 years and gave a brief introduction about breeding principle, breeding objectives, identification system, breeding methods and exploitation approaches for Indica-compatible Japonica Line. In the last part of paper, some new considerations about the research in future were also suggested.
