In situ gas phase polypropylene (PP) formation over heterogeneous ball-milled TiCl_4-MgCl_2 Ziegler-Natta (Z-N) catalysts has been observed for the first time in real time using environmental TEM (ETEM). The active Ti sites appear to be located at the polymer/MgCl_2 buried interface. Our data show that the polymerization probability is about 10~(-5)-10~(-4).
