This paper will provide an example from Bend, Oregon, USA of how roundabouts in a roadway network can facilitate a multi-modal transportation system. It discusses our system of 22 single lane roundabouts, how this system itself has further influenced land use and provided multi-modal opportunities, and what operations issues have arisen and how we are dealing with them.
