摘要

In this paper we describe the implementation of a computer tool which allows the prediction of faults in the manufacturing of porcelain figures during the design stage. The system is running in a Silicon Graphics work station whose graphic accelerator allows real time visualisation of the complex graphic models. The figure's relieves are introduced into the computer by means of a laser scanner from the model carried out by the artist and are composed with the help of a CAD tool. Fault detection is charged to an Expert System which has been modified to incorporate new features. The current prototype has been developed in the framework of the PRODUCT European project and is currently installed in the manufacturing plant of the industrial partner.
