摘要

This paper introduces the concept of voltage stability and rotor angle improvement via tuning of power system stabilizer (PSS) and optimal location of STATCOM is thoroughly investigated. The fast acting power electronics device such FACTS controller (STATCOM) is capable of improving dynamic stability. The performance analysis of PSS with STATCOM has been carried out for WSCC9 bus system for the enhancement of dynamic stability using power system analysis tool box (PSAT) software after clearing fault. The effects of PSS with STATCOM are implemented through the nonlinear time domain simulation. The particle swarm optimization technique is developed for STATCOM and placed optimal location to improve voltage profile of the system.
