This study investigated variations of spectral characteristics of Korean pine needles associated with heavy metal contamination at an abandoned Pb-Zn mine. XRF analysis revealed that the pine needles are mainly polluted by Zn and As. Among the contaminants, As content showed highest correlation with surface reflectance in visible and near infrared spectrum where positive relationship in visible and negative relationship in near infrared are detected.
