In the article a model of the monitoring system for electricity consumption is proposed based on the using of Internet of things concept. The scheme of the system and characteristics of its components are presented. The data of experimental studies of monitoring the characteristics of electricity consumption are demonstrated. The results of the researches can be used in the design of monitoring systems of various physical parameters for the purpose of practical implementation of projects based on the Internet of things concept.
