1. Component models will help model, simulate analyze hybrids in real time (milliseconds) without having to use expensive processors will enable real-time accurate prediction of state of charge and state of health in hybrid environments. 2. Component models do not require expensive processors, and this provides the possibility of on-site real-time simulation of Electrochemical Power Sources (e.g., Hybrid Cars). 3. Component models will enable full utilization of batteries and fuel cells, due to on-site/real-time prediction and simulation. 4. In-situ real-time modeling, analysis and control of hybrids, stacks are feasible with physics based component models.
