摘要

In this paper we share some of our experiences at the International Space University (ISU) of how robotic and human exploration of the solar system attracts and challenges students in a variety of ways. We review the wide range of opportunities that exist to introduce exploration-related topics in different elements of our main courses. Particular attention will be given to major team projects illustrated by recent examples in areas such as Moon and Mars missions and exploration of the inner solar system. We will also describe how exploration proves to be a rich source of subject matter in other parts of our programs such as individual assignments and internships, and in outreach activities. Finally we will briefly review the scope and success of recent symposia organized by ISU since space exploration has featured, partly or wholly, in three of our last four annual symposia and will again be the central theme for our next one in February 2007 when the focus will be on The Moon.
