Food is one of hotspots of ever growing interest of the world. To ensure food security is a matter of the global common concern today or next century. Present situations of water resources and food security and the effect of water resources on food security in China were analyzed in this paper. As a conclusion, to ensure food security, the countermeasures to the problem of water scarcity in severe constrains based on increasing population and growing demand for food next century in China was proposed, which concern Chinese livelihood and development in future.
