摘要

There is a mass of suspended sediment in the Three Gorge Reservoir. The impact on water environment of the suspended sediment should be received more attention. In order to offer the scientific basis to predict the occurrence of eutrophication in Chongqing section after the reservoir is formed, the impact on chlorophyll a, transparency, dissolving total phosphorus(TP), dissolving total nitrogen(TN), turbid degree of suspended sediment in water was disscussed. The results show that the suspended sediment will be inclined to settle after the reservoir is formed, which will cause the turbid degree reducing, and the content of chlorophyll a and the transparency increase.All of these may accelerate the algal growth while the increase of the ratio between TP and TN will hold back the occurrence of eutrophication.
