In recent years, several theoretical and empirical studies in the field of organizational knowledge management were published. With rare exceptions, however, little attention has been paid to the specific aspects of knowledge transfer between multinational corporations (MNCs) and domestic enterprises. The purpose of this paper is to overcome this limitation and to explore how knowledge is transferred across organization and national boundaries. Relying on the models of Gupta (2000), Bodo B.Schlegelmilch (2003) and Pin wang (2004), this paper develops a three-stage model to describe knowledge transfer among the MNC parent, the subsidiaries and domestic enterprises through organizational networks. In the first stage, the model proposes factors affecting the extent of knowledge contributed by an MNC parent to its subsidiaries. In the second stage, the model proposes factors affecting the extent of knowledge acquired by their subsidiaries from the MNC parent. In the third stage the model proposes factors affecting the extent of knowledge acquired by the domestic enterprises from the MNCs subsidiaries. At the same time in the three stages this paper fingered out the main influence factors. Specifically, we propose the model of knowledge transfer through knowledge flows of organizational networks and advance research propositions for future empirical testing The guidelines presented here have also been adopted while formatting the present paper.
