摘要

We are committed to providing an improved and more convenient traffic and pedestrian services throughout Hong Kong, even in the worst of weathers. Using the advance warning system, the fault attendance team, on receipt of the fault reports, will provide prompt and efficient services. The flooding situation can be rectified anywhere and anytime so that the inconvenience caused to motoring public and pedestrians will be scaled down to the minimum. From an operational point of view, the maintenance staff are able to rectify the problems almost immediately, controlling the situations before they could grow in seriousness or complexity. Preventive action could now be taken as faulty pumps could be fixed before the rain arrives. This is in direct contrast to the past practice when staff were only able to respond to the situation after flooding had taken place, often relying on a member of the public to raise the alarm. Additionally, with the installation of these systems, the underpasses and subways should experience almost no flooding whatsoever.
